New Passages, a large behavioral healthcare provider with services spanning across 12 counties, is seeking a Grant Writer to expand its fundraising efforts. This position reports to the VP of Program Planning & Development and is responsible for writing proposals and preparing reports for government, corporate, and foundation grants, as well as grant management and tracking. The ideal candidate must be able to write a compelling anecdote, as well as be very exacting and detail oriented.

Responsibilities: This position will research new program and funding opportunities and prepare and submit grant proposals. It will scan, identify, and evaluate large national and local foundation and government funding solicitations for potential applications, as well as scan local and national environmental and demographic trends for use in grant applications. The Grant Writer will attend bidder conferences, and will assist in the design and preparation of required grant reports and program evaluations for grant funded.
Experience Needed: The Applicant should posses a Bachelor’ degree and have at least 3 years grant writing experience working in non-profit organizations, with a proven track record in successful solicitations. He/she must have a solid working knowledge of regulation and procedures of grant writing and have the ability to work independently or as part of a team, as well as the ability to coordinate multiple projects - setting and meeting deadlines. Likewise, the successful candidate will demonstrate strong writing and oral communication skills and computer proficiency. Raiser’s Edge knowledge a plus.
